Spirit Airlines has connected with Thales’ FlytLIVE

FlytLIVE by Thales provides Spirit Airlines’ Guests full access to internet services on all Spirit routes with an at home experience in the air — guests can enjoy streaming their favorite movies or shows, playing games and connecting on social media using their personal devices.

The Spirit all-Airbus fleet is among the youngest and most fuel-efficient in the U.S. Today, Spirit’s A320s and A321s are flying with Thales’ FlytLIVE high-speed connectivity; additional Spirit aircraft will also be equipped with FlytLIVE.

Spirit’s Guests have access to full Internet services on all Spirit flights on A320 and A321 aircraft, which is more than 80% of their fleet. Guests can enjoy an at home experience in the air that includes video streaming, playing games and connecting on social media using their phone or tablet. In addition, FlytLIVE will enable Spirit Airlines to develop new features for their Guests and create innovative revenue generation and advertising opportunities.

Using SES and Hughes next-generation aviation satellite network and technology, FlytLIVE will provide Spirit Airlines with the fastest Wi-Fi in sky. With ultra-high speeds of up to 400 Mbps and exceptional reliability, Guests can binge watch their favorite content without interruption.

With the SES-17 satellite now operational, Thales’ FlytLIVE provides unmatched performance, speed and coverage across the Americas and the Atlantic. The SES satellite — manufactured by Thales Alenia Space — is equipped with nearly 200 beams of mixed size for more flexible allocation of capacity over high-traffic airline routes to deliver seamless connectivity and outstanding performance.

This is a real ground-breaking moment in the industry as Spirit adds in-flight amenities and product options that have previously not been available on ultra-low fare carriers. We’re continuing to deliver the best value in the sky by providing options that are important to our Guests, like our high-speed Wi-Fi service, while keeping our focus on affordable fares to provide our Guests with More Go,” said Matt Klein, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Spirit Airlines

At Thales, we are proud to partner with Spirit Airlines in their mission to enhance the guest experience and are truly excited to have 100% of their A320 & A321 fleet equipped with FlytLIVE. The system’s reliability and performance is getting rave reviews from Spirit’s passengers who can now stream to their heart’s content,” said TK Kallenbach, CEO, Thales InFlyt Experience
