Sedaro Goes Live with Sedaro Satellite SaaS, Wins $1.7 Million in USAF Funding for Further Development

ARLINGTON, Va., (Sedaro Satellite PR) — Sedaro Satellite is a modular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for model-based satellite engineering. This platform enable’s engineering teams to develop an integrated, multi-disciplinary model of their space mission and simulate its on-orbit behavior in the cloud.

In Sedaro Satellite, teams iteratively model, simulate, and analyze their design until all performance requirements are met. “Satellite engineering is dramatically cheaper and faster with Sedaro Satellite. Intuitive design capture, engaging analytics, and powerful cloud computing resources reduce the level of specialized expertise and engineering-hours required to develop a successful satellite mission.” says Sedaro CEO and Co-founder Robbie Robertson.

Sedaro Satellite is now live with the Mission Designer module – enabling engineering teams around the world to design their mission architecture, orbit, pointing and spacecraft configuration.

Sedaro was recently chosen for two Direct-to-Phase II AFWERX SBIR contracts totaling about $1.7M to add additional modules to the Sedaro Satellite platform. AFRL and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the SBIR process to speed up the experience, broaden the pool of applicants and decrease overhead. Beginning in SBIR 18.2, and now in X20.3, the Air Force has begun offering ‘Special’ SBIR topics that are faster, leaner, and open to a broader range of innovations.

Sedaro’s AFWERX funding will support to the development of the Energy Balance, Attitude Control, and Thermal modules for Sedaro Satellite. These new modules will automatically integrate with existing Mission Designer engineering data and enable fully integrated design, simulation, and analysis of spacecraft power systems, thermal architectures, and attitude determination and control systems.

“These AFWERX projects will allow us to realize our vision for Sedaro Satellite as a fully-integrated engineering platform – one that empowers engineers to design faster and focus of the unique innovation of each project.” says Robertson.
