To sum up Predator: Badland’s plot in a nutshell, an outcast Yautja warrior heads to a killer alien planet to prove his worthiness and grudgingly teams up with a battered synthetic human in order to survive.
Starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, the movie is as action-packed as you’d expect, but it’s also got plenty of humorous moments. Badlands is also the first non-crossover Predator movie to get a PG-13 rating (2004’s disappointing Alien vs Predator was also PG-13). That said, there is plenty of blood spilled in Badlands, but it’s of the gloopy alien variety.
I watched Badlands at the cinema and was pleased to see some elements from the Alien series. Hulu (or Disney+ outside of the US) is also home to everything Alien-related, and if you haven’t heard the news already, the fantastic Alien: Earth has been renewed for season two.

Wonder Man is the most recent release from Marvel and dropped last month. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley, it’s a far cry from typical Marvel blockbusters, but is rated as one of the MCU’s best series – I loved it.
Next up for Marvel is season two of Daredevil: Born Again, on March 4. If season one somehow passed you by, do yourself a favor and add it to your watch list. Following later in the year will be the WandaVision spin-off, VisionQuest, and season two of the animated series X-Men ’97 – air dates both TBC.
While by far the biggest Star Wars event this year is the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie on May 22, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord lands on Disney+ April 6. That’s followed by Ashoka season two, and Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, later in the year.
