Digital lift-off: Roscosmos and Zyfra to jointly develop technologies for the space industry of Russia

Russia’s state company accountable for distance flights and cosmonautic programs, Roscosmos, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Finnish-Russian industrial digitalization leader Zyfra to collaborate on executing the Russian space sector’s digital transformation strategy, which conducts to 2025, along with its adoption of electronic technologies.

The document had been signed by the Director of this Roscosmos’ Department of Konstantin Shadrin, Digital Development, along with also the Zyfra CEO Igor Bogachev.

According to the memorandum, Roscosmos and Zyfra plan to develop complex home grown solutions from the technology sector that is electronic . They also aim to check electronic technology at Roscosmos sites, such as big information, the industrial internet of matters along with artificial intelligence.

“Nowadays, electronic technologies are getting to be an essential part of the rocket and space development industry. Digitalization must repaint all activities within the sector, from novel rocket design and process simulation through to support functions. The most effective Russian technology will be used to execute these jobs, while new ones are also made,” said Konstantin Shadrin, Director of the Department of Digital Development at Roscosmos.

One of the core tasks under the memorandum is going to be manufacturing information collection system at Roscosmos manufacturing sites and the executing of Zyfra’s MDCplus machine monitoring. Its goal will be ensure transparent and objective computer-based monitoring of production, raise workforce productivity and to increase manufacturing equipment efficiency by an average of 20 percent.

MDCplus is currently operational at Roscosmos sites, especially at the Information Satellite Systems Reshetnev, Russia’s leading venture for the development of spacecraft communications, broadcasting, re-broadcasting, navigation and geodesy, in addition to the Progress Rocket Space Centre, which is among the worldwide pioneers in the space industry for its development, manufacture and maintenance of medium-lift launch vehicles.

“Russian advancements in the Business 4.0 sector are already letting us make electronic workplaces and reap economic rewards without a drastic overhaul of production procedures. This can facilitate not just an increase in production quality but an increase in the worldwide competitiveness of the Russian space sector,” said Igor Bogachev, CEO of both Zyfra.
